If you notice a skin infection in the area of the surgery, you can use antibacterial ointments. If the infection doesn’t subside with this treatment, the surgery may be postponed. Avoid surgery if you have a viral infection like herpes (cold sores) as well.

For your safety, you should remove your contact lenses before the surgery. Also, inform your doctor that you wear contact lenses.

The time it takes for you to get out of bed will depend on the type of surgery and the anesthesia used. Your doctor will provide detailed instructions on what to do. It’s important to stay motivated and actively contribute to your healing process to speed up recovery.

After surgery, you will typically be prescribed antibiotics and painkillers. Be sure to check for any allergies to these medications, and take them as directed by your doctor.
